Sorry - that was a bit annoying!

March 12th, 2008

loudSorry, some of you may have noticed that in the last 12 hours or so, on the home page, you may have be interupted with the music from our video - this was annoying and we did not mean to do it - sorry!

We have now fixed that and the music will only play if you click on the play button.

Persoanlly I blame Charles for this, and as such I will be placing him in a sack and beating him with a stick. You may think this is not fair, or to harsh, but he has to learn - and this is the only way.

…but I will give him a chance, post a comment below to and either vote “SAVE CHARLES” or “BEAT CHARLES” you have 24 hours to decide his fate…

Also, if he says it was not his fault, you mustn’t listen… he will only try and get out of it…

bye for now

Ben :)

Small Change to the Home Page

March 11th, 2008

moviesHi - you might have noticed the change to the home page. We have put the video of our day out on the streets of Bristol there as a little test -What do you think? - The reason being we are making some more films at the moment and thought it would be fun to show them, so keep an eye out for the latest Wabba and Dabba creations…

We are really getting in to making some movies at the moment, but we have decided not to start working for the BBC since we got this rejection letter.

Bye for now

Ben.

Ben.

What happens if you dig straight down?

January 10th, 2008

diggingEver wondered if you dug a hole and just kept digging where you would end up? I have, and I now know the answer.

Most of the planet is covered in water, so most diggers will dig into some ocean or another. What little land there is is generally not opposite other land. Some of South America and Asia, for instance, are opposite each other, but most Americans will swim in the Indian Ocean.

Click here to find out where you’ll end up

Enjoy

Ben

Our Big Day Out on Video

January 7th, 2008

We took to the streets of Bristol armed with bunches of flowers. We were having a go at out first ever “Act of Random Kindness”. It was our intention just to give the flowers away, and ask for nothing in return.

It is amazing how a difficult it was to give a flowers, perhaps the 7 foot tall Dabba was distracting people! Enjoy

Darwin Awards 2007

January 2nd, 2008

Once again, it’s time for the Darwin Award Nominees. The Darwins are awarded every year to the persons who died in the most stupid manner, thereby removing themselves from the gene pool. There are always several version of the Darwin awards, so if you know of any more feel free to add it via the comment option at the bottom.  This was sent to me in an email so if you know the source let me know and I will add it.

This years nominees are:

Nominee No. 1: [San Jose Mercury News]

An unidentified man, using a shotgun like a club to break a former girlfriends wind shield, accidentally shot himself to death when the gun discharged, blowing a hole in his gut.

Nominee No. 2: [Kalamazoo Gazette]

James Burns, 34, (a mechanic) of Alamo, MI. was killed in March as he was trying to repair what police describe as a “farm-type truck”. Burns got a friend to drive the truck on a highway while Burns hung underneath so that he could ascertain the source of a troubling noise. Burns clothes caught on something however, and the other man found Burns “wrapped in the drive shaft”.

Nominee No. 3: [Hickory Daily Record]

Ken Charles Barger, 47, accidentally shot himself to death in December in Newton, NC. Awakening to the sound of a ringing telephone beside his bed, he reached for the phone but grabbed instead a Smith & Wesson 38 Special, which discharged when he drew it to his ear.

Nominee No. 4: [UPI, Toronto]

Police said a lawyer demonstrating the safety of windows in a down town Toronto skyscraper crashed through a pane with his shoulder and plunged 24 floors to his death. A police spokesman said Garry Hoy, 39, fell into the courtyard of the Toronto Dominion Bank Tower early Friday evening as he was explaining the strength of the buildings windows to visiting law students. Hoy previously has conducted demonstrations of window strength according to police reports. Peter Lawson, managing partner of the firm Holden Day Wilson, told the Toronto Sun newspaper that Hoy was “one of the best and brightest” members of the 200-man association.

Nominee No. 5: [The News of the Weird]

Michael Anderson Godwin made News of the Weird posthumously. He had spent several years awaiting South Carolinas electric chair on a murder conviction before having his sentence reduced to life in prison. While sitting on a metal toilet in his cell attempting to fix his small TV set, he bit into a wire and was electrocuted.

Nominee No. 6: [The Indianapolis Star]

A cigarette lighter may have triggered a fatal explosion in Dunkirk, IN. A Jay County man, using a cigarette lighter to check the barrel of a muzzle loader, was killed Monday night when the weapon discharged in his face, sheriffs investigators said. Gregory David Pryor, 19, died in his parents rural Dunkirk home at about 11:30 PM. Investigators said Pryor was cleaning a 54-caliber muzzle-loader that had not been firing properly. He was using the lighter to look into the barrel when the gun-powder ignited.

Nominee No. 7: [Reuters, Mississauga, Ontario]

A man cleaning a bird feeder on the balcony of his condominium apartment in this Toronto suburb slipped and fell 23 stories to his death. Stefan Macko, 55, was standing on a wheelchair when the accident occurred, said Inspector Darcy Honer of the Peel Regional Police. “It appears that the chair moved, and he went over the balcony,” Honer said.

Finally, THE WINNER!!!: [Arkansas Democrat Gazette]

Two local men were injured when their pickup truck left the road and struck a tree near Cotton Patch on State Highway 38 early Monday. Woodruff County deputy Dovey Snyder reported the accident shortly after midnight Monday. Thurston Poole, 33, of Des Arc, and Billy Ray Wallis, 38, of Little Rock, were returning to Des Arc after a frog catching trip. On an overcast Sunday night, Pooles pick-up truck headlights malfunctioned. The two men concluded that the headlight fuse on the older-model truck had burned out. As a replacement fuse was not available, Wallis noticed that the .22 caliber bullets from his pistol fit perfectly into the fuse box next to the steering-wheel column. Upon inserting the bullet the headlights again began to operate properly, and the two men proceeded on eastbound toward the White River Bridge. After Traveling Approximately 20 miles, and just before crossing the river, the bullet apparently overheated, discharged, and struck Poole in the testicles. The vehicle swerved sharply right, exiting the pavement, and striking a tree Poole suffered only minor cuts and abrasions from the accident but will require extensive surgery to repair the damage to his testicles, which will never operate as intended. Wallis sustained a broken clavicle and was treated and released. “Thank God we weren’t on that bridge when Thurston shot his balls off, or we might both be dead,” stated Wallis “I’ve been a trooper for 10 years in this part of the world, but this is a first for me. I can’t believe that those two would admit how this accident happened,” said Snyder. Upon being notified of the wreck, Lavinia (Poole’s wife) asked how many frogs the boys had caught and did anyone get them from the truck???

(Though Poole and Wallis did not die as a result of their misadventure as normally required by Darwin Award Official Rules, it can be argued that Poole did, in fact, effectively remove himself from the gene pool.)

Happy New Year

January 1st, 2008

New YearWelcome to 2008, it does not feel very much different to last year at the moment, but I’ll give it some more time and see if things change - as I guess I have not seen too much of 2008 yet! One thing I know is that 2008 means more prizes more searching and more winning!

But the big question is what are your New Years Resolutions? Are you planning to give any thing up, or to start something, a new hobby perhaps? Do you have something special you are planning to do this year?

So far I have decided to:

1. Run an Ultra Marathon or complete a Ironman

2. Raise £2500 for Charity (HOPEHIV)

3. Get my body fat % down to single figures

4. Give more away, (personally and through Wabbadabba!) I guess this is my “serious one” as I would like to give more time, more money and more effort to the things in life that we all too easily forget about. You know when you have that chance to help someone, or to spend time with them, but really you would rather do something else - this year I am going to try and be less selfish with everything I have, and I promise to continue to do “Random Acts of Kindness”
What are your aims for 2008?

Ben.

Just waiting for a few more Amazon vouchers…

December 31st, 2007

amazon_50voucher.jpgCongratulations to all of you that won over Christmas, I am just waiting for a few more Amazon vouchers to arrive, as soon as I have them I will be shipping them out. I hope to have them by next Monday, but maybe soon, but with the bank holiday tomorrow it could take a extra day or so.

I hope you had a great Christmas and are looking forward to this evening - I will be celebrating with a Curry and god (edit:this should say “good” friends!), and the weather man said we might have snow on Thursday - so that’s quite exiting!

Bye for now

Happy Christmas

December 25th, 2007

christmas.jpg“Happy Christmas”.

I can’t write a long one as I’ve got to go an prepare myself for a full traditional lunch as I want to do it all justice, in a funny way I’m looking forward to the left overs as much as the dinner itself! - Have a great day everyone, I hope you all have a great time.

I have a funny feeling I maybe seeing a few of you on boxing day searching for “gym membership” and “diet plans” - what ever you do today enjoy it!

I wonder, does telling someone about Wabbadabba count as a present? If not my Aunt and Uncle maybe a little disappointed today!!! (ummm, there must be a garage open some where!!)

Bye for now

Ben.

Our Day out..

December 21st, 2007

We popped out the other day to give away 40 bunches of Tulips for no reason, other than “We love to give”.

crop_20071219-_mg_0908.jpg

We gave Wabba and Dabba some little signs to help them out…

crop_img_1539.JPG

crop_img_1641.JPG

some people loved the idea

crop_img_1681.JPG

Others were not so keen, and kept their hands well hidden!
crop_img_1654.JPG

When people realised the flowers were really free, it was fantastic! Dabba even got a little “Mary Poppins” about the whole thing!
crop_img_1710.JPG

We even went to GWR radio station to give them some flowers, hoping they might mention us on the radio!

crop_20071219-_mg_0928.jpg

Just a brief update on our day out. I will sort out the other photos and upload them soon. But you would be amazed how hard it was to give people a free bunch of flowers! But we had a great day, it was a lot of fun just doing a “random act of kindness!”

Bye for now

Ben

On the 12th Day of Christmas Wabbadabba gave to me…

December 21st, 2007

logo.gif“12 funds for Plumbing” As today is the last day we are going to have a serious moment, these are few and far between here at Wabbadabba - so enjoy it while you can!  Today 12 lucky people are going to have a Well sanitised in their name, as well as receiving an Amazon voucher.

We will be buying these wells from World Vision. This is what World Vision say about this gift

“This simple and effective gift could prevent illness and save many lives. World Vision’s project in Jong, Sierra Leone is supplying chlorine to sanitise a village well for an entire year. This will particularly benefit local children, who are most vulnerable to potentially fatal waterborne diseases.”

Well done to the winners of the 11th Wabbaddaba day of Christmas, your “Pipers” are on the way.
